Help communities like Miriam’s build resilience against the rising tides

“The sea made everything that we grew die. When you want to pick the food ... there is no food.” – Miriam (pictured above), Solomon Islands.

Miriam relies on her garden to feed her family and make a living. But rising sea levels are killing her crops and threatening her family’s livelihood.

Pacific Island countries like Solomon Islands are some of the hardest hit by climate change. They face a range of impacts such as rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and saltwater intrusion.

Before sea levels started rising, Miriam grew nutritious vegetables like cabbage, cassava and kumara to feed her family and sell at the local markets. But now that life and her home are under threat.

Please donate today to help communities like Miriam's prepare, adapt and respond to the impacts of the climate crisis.

Your donation will be used in support of Oxfam's efforts around the world. This is one of the many ways we work with communities living in poverty to improve their lives.
