Pakistan Flood Response

Pakistan Flood Response

The disaster hitting Pakistan is on a scale never seen in the country: after exceptional monsoon rains this summer, the country is currently being devastated by considerable floods.

Over 6 million people have been left without shelter and are fleeing from rising waters — more than 1,000 have already lost their lives.

After a summer marked by exceptional droughts around the world, these floods, of unprecedented magnitude, show us that climate change is no longer a distant threat, but a reality that affects us all, everywhere on the planet.

Oxfam has been present in Pakistan since 1973. Our teams and our partners are currently assessing the needs of the community, in order to intervene as quickly as possible, in particular to ensure access to drinking water for those who have lost everything.

Your donation is essential to save lives!

Note: Should the funds raised exceed the amount required to meet the immediate and longer term needs of the people in the affected areas, Oxfam Australia will direct donations to our International Crisis Fund to enable us to rapidly address emergencies as they occur.
